Timber beam-end engineering repairs

This was not a typical repair system. Consideration had to be given to all the supporting timber joints with the least amount of disturbance. Click on any of the images for a larger view.

A series of holes were drilled along the beam to calculate the length of the rot. A timber repair bearing end was manufactured.

End grain drilling to accept the steels.

Dry fit of timber repair system.

Timber repair system bonded to principal timber.

The existing beam end carefully removed.

Good clean up.

Bars resin bonded.

Finished job with ceiling joists bonded to repair system.

Beam end removed, note no disturbance to the ceiling laths.
