What can be viewed is the bearing end of an oak beam carrier beam.
|
During decoration, the client accidentally removed the plasterwork which revealed a beam end problem. Here we can see the cut off of the timber, which really had no bearing left. |
Once the pocket was cleaned, the carrier beam was marked out to accept the steelwork from the Timber Repair System. What was strange about this installation was the length of the steel bars. This is probably the shortest beam end repair we are ever likely to fix. The beam end was longer than the steel work. This is because of the cut off Shear point. It is completely in a shear force with no allowance of bar bending, hence the nickname of 'Stumpy'. |

Dry fit of TRS to parent timber.

Parent timber is shuttered to prevent resn loss. The slots are then filled with TG6 expoxy resin.
